Step-by-Step Sewing Instructions

Draft construction notes. Readable online; review against the pattern pieces before sewing.

1

Shoulder Seams

Stabilize shoulder seams and stitch front and back body panels right sides together using a stretch stitch. Press seams open or toward back.

2

Assemble Stand Collar & Zipper Guard

Stitch outer collar to body neckline right sides together. Fold zipper guard lengthwise and press. Pin zipper face-down along front slit opening with zipper guard behind left tape.

3

Install Half-Zip

Stitch zipper tape into front opening using a zipper foot. Fold inner collar down over zipper tape to encase top teeth cleanly and topstitch zipper edges.

4

Set Sleeves Flat & Stitch Side Seams

Pin sleeve caps into armholes and stitch. Pin front and back together at side seams, matching underarms, and sew continuously from sleeve hem to lower edge.

5

Attach Cuffs and Hem Band

Form cuff and hem band pieces into loops, fold wrong sides together, and serge to sleeve openings and pullover lower edge, stretching evenly.

Troubleshooting & Fit Alterations

Solutions for common fitting hurdles and construction errors specific to this garment.

Problem: Seams puckering along stitch line

Possible Cause: Thread tension too high or needle blunt

Recommended Fix: Insert fresh needle and test balance on fabric scrap.

Problem: Wavy edge along curved perimeter

Possible Cause: Edge was stretched while feeding into machine

Recommended Fix: Staystitch immediately after cutting and use walking foot.
