Tile Assembly Instructions

Align numbered registration marks and butt tile edges flush without overlapping untrimmed paper. Tape securely.

Step-by-Step Sewing Instructions

Draft construction notes. Readable online; review against the pattern pieces before sewing.

1

Prepare Patch Pockets

Fold pocket top hem to right side, stitch side seam allowances, turn right side out, and press. Topstitch pocket hem, then pin and edgestitch pockets onto cardigan front markings.

2

Shoulder & Neckline Staystitching

Stabilize shoulder seams with clear elastic or knit stay tape. Stitch front and back bodice panels right sides together at the shoulders using a stretch stitch or serger.

3

Set Sleeves Flat

Pin sleeve caps right sides together along the open armholes, matching notches and easing fullness evenly. Stitch across each armhole.

4

Side and Underarm Seams

Align front and back pieces right sides together, matching underarm seam intersections. Stitch each side seam and sleeve underarm in one continuous pass.

5

Attach Continuous Front Placket Band

Fold placket band lengthwise wrong sides together. Match center back placket notch to back neck, pin along V-neckline down to hem on both sides, stretching slightly along curves. Stitch and press seam toward body.

6

Attach Cuffs, Hem, and Buttons

Fold wrist cuffs into rings, press in half lengthwise, and serge onto sleeve openings. Double-fold and topstitch bottom hem. Mark button placement and sew buttonholes on right placket, buttons on left.

Troubleshooting & Fit Alterations

Solutions for common fitting hurdles and construction errors specific to this garment.

Problem: Seams puckering along stitch line

Possible Cause: Thread tension too high or needle blunt

Recommended Fix: Insert fresh needle and test balance on fabric scrap.

Problem: Wavy edge along curved perimeter

Possible Cause: Edge was stretched while feeding into machine

Recommended Fix: Staystitch immediately after cutting and use walking foot.
